Major infrastructure projects play a vital role in shaping the future of communities, and the completion of the first phase of the A1331 Link Road represents an important step in improving connectivity and supporting planned growth across the area.
The new link road will provide a strategic connection between the A120 and A133, helping to strengthen the local transport network and provide the infrastructure needed to support the long-term ambitions of the Tendring Colchester Borders Garden Community. By investing in essential infrastructure alongside future development, the project will help create better-connected places for communities, businesses, and residents.
Phase 1 has delivered a new section of dual carriageway, together with improvements to junctions, access arrangements, and facilities for pedestrians and cyclists. The scheme also includes a significant landscaping programme, demonstrating the importance of considering environmental improvements alongside the delivery of major infrastructure.
Working collaboratively with Pick Everard, Essex Highways and the wider project team, Hunter Bayfield contributed to the successful delivery of this important scheme.
